Surveys to Gather and Analyze Perception Data

It is best practice to gather input from stakeholders (staff, parents, and secondary students) on an annual basis.  MDE recommends that schools also survey elementary students and community members.  You can use the same survey questions every year, or change them when needed.

Surveys can be administered electronically through tools such as Survey Monkey and Google Forms.  Through the AdvancED website all schools in Michigan can administer surveys using either ASSIST or eProve.  Using these types of digital tools will provide data analysis options.

Note for AdvancED Accredited Schools:
AdvancED accredited schools and districts will use eProve surveys during the year of their Engagement Review.  This tool provides AdvancED accredited content or it can be used to create customized surveys.  The key is to have the district assign surveys to the school.  This is the only way to receive aggregate data across the district.
