Practical Improvement for Schools
Search this specific site

Seasonal Activities

The seasonal pages of this site make practical suggestions regarding when various aspects of the school improvement process should be addressed, keeping in mind that the process should be a continuous thread throughout the calendar year.  While the pages do take deadlines into consideration, they are really focused on how the required work for each report can be embedded where it makes the most practical sense, where it has the highest potential for positive impact, and how each of those reports can be completed in a truly meaningful way.

Each season is organized around the four “levels” at which the school improvement process is carried out:  district, building, classroom, and individual teacher.  The language of each is purposely simple and immediately applicable, keeping in mind that stakeholders are at various points in their learning.  When implemented well, the suggestions in each level function together to form what we believe to be a truly comprehensive school improvement process.
