More SLOs Updates (MSTC in Ann Arbor)

Resources for SLO Development continue to become available.

Typically, an overview of SLOs should only take 90 to 120 minutes.  Here is the PwrPt reference for the 60 - 75 minute overview given at MI State Testing Conference.  Teachers should be allowed a full day for an overview and SLO development in collaboration with others.  Dialogue and samples seem to be the key to development.  A full day for SLO development would likely need a follow up session, maybe a couple hours (not experimented with this yet).

Here is the story of Vicksburg Community Schools as an early adopter of the SLO process and their journey to define student growth and assessment data.  The DRAFT RUBRIC is similar to the rubric currently under development at Vicksburg using language from Marzano, 5D+, Danielson, DuFours and American Institute of Research. (NOTE: These are not highlighted elsewhere in the site as of yet).

DRAFT Rubric
MDE has improved their website for Ed Evals recently, so here is the newest revision of the OAISD template (0r PDF for quick reference) that combines the components with the checklist and designed for user-friendly, teacher development.  In addition, just for MSTC participants (likely to be removed until finalized), here is an excellent DRAFT SLO for Visual Arts in HS.

Key resources already posted elsewhere in the site can be located quickly by reviewing the blog post below from the MASA presentation...
