MERA Fall Conference (11.22.2016)

A collaborative initiative by superintendents across Ottawa and Muskegon ISDs to create a meaningful, simple and compliant process and documentation that will meet state law §1248 and §1249 on teacher performance goals  and student growth for educator evaluations.  An overview was given at the Fall MERA Conference (PPT) in reference to the Growth Plan (PGP + SLO) Page.  More in depth information will be provided at the MSTC on February 14, 2017, registration now available.  

Earlier in the morning, State Supt. Brian Whiston shared his story regarding assessment and Michigan's vision for the future.  During the presentation, a table summarizing the recommendations of various groups across the state was displayed on the screen.  NOTE:  This was not written by MDE or approved by MDE, it began with three organizations and has been shared with many others.  Here is the most recent iteration of the Assessment Recommendations.

Questions about the BAA Secure Site

Recent reports have been uploaded to the BAA Secure Site including the Assessment Targets (ELA, Math) and the School Score Card.  MDE has released guidance documents that can now be found on the Comprehensive Needs Assessment (CNA) page.  NEW this year, schools will have the option to complete the School Data Analysis (SDA) again in ASSIST or keep there own CNA in their Data Warehouse or locally.  Schools are still required to look at data (CNA) but they are not required to update last year's SDA.

2016-17 Annual Ed Report Delayed until late Fall 2016.

Stay Tuned ... As accountability data is in the process of being released, the AER will likely see reporting requirements soon.  Annual Education Reports (AERs) are typically required before school starts. The 2016-17 AER report has been delayed until late fall, as clarified in an MDE memo dated June 2, 2016.   Click the picture below to read the full memo.  District and School AER templates can be found by clicking HERE.
