Extended COVID-19 Learning Plan Resources

The following documents have been developed to support the creation, implementation, and accountability of Extended COVID-19 Learning Plans as established in PA 149 and modified by PA-0165.  While much care has been taken to represent both the intent and spirit of the law, district leaders are encouraged to become familiar with the appropriate statute language as these documents are not a substitute for the legislation or official MDE guidance.

  • Cover Page
    • Start here.  Information about all requirements and reports.  Regularly updated as new information becomes available
  • Training Report
    • Posted to district Transparency Link no later than January 15, 2021
  • Goal Reporting
    • Required no later than February 1st, 2021 and by the end of the 20/21 school year
  • Reconfirmation Meeting Template
    • Posted to district Transparency Link no later than 5 days after each reconfirmation meeting

Reconfirmation Data Submitted to CEPI

    • ​Must complete your submission in one session
    • After submitting, you will not be able to view/edit

Reconfirmation data submitted to CEPI is now being reported on MISCHOOLDATA and is being researched for policy purposes by EPIC (MSU). Please be aware that the data districts are submitting is disaggregated by school district on MISCHOOLDATA and will be used for policy decisions in the future. More information in the video below (5 minutes).

What timeline are we actually using when completing the GEMS Reconfirmation Submission? Info from CEPI:
  • The December survey is for how your district plans to provide instruction to students for the month of December, which should have been decided in a November board meeting. If the board is meeting again on December 21st, they will be reconfirming how instruction will be provided for the month of January which means you will submit the plan from that meeting in the January submission. Essentially, the data you report to CEPI is for the preceding month’s board meeting.
